Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide you with an update on an incident that occurred this morning at our schools.
This morning, we initiated a secure in place procedure for all buildings due to staff members hearing gunshots outside. During a secure in place, students are free to move around the building but are not allowed to go outside. Our primary concern is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
We want to assure you that we acted swiftly and in coordination with local law enforcement. After a thorough assessment, it was determined that the shots heard were from duck hunters on the river. The SECURE! in place was lifted after only 17 minutes, and regular operations resumed once the area was deemed safe.
We appreciate the prompt and professional response from our staff, as well as the cooperation and assistance from local law enforcement. Their quick actions helped ensure the safety of everyone on our campus.
While it turned out to be a false alarm, incidents like these remind us of the importance of maintaining a vigilant and responsive approach to safety. We are grateful for the support and understanding of our school community.

Queridos padres y guardianes,
Espero que este mensaje los encuentre bien. Quería brindarles una actualización sobre un incidente que ocurrió esta mañana en nuestras escuelas.
Esta mañana, iniciamos un procedimiento de seguridad en todos los edificios debido a que los miembros del personal escucharon disparos afuera. Durante el cierre, la escuela es un lugar seguro y los estudiantes son libres de moverse por el edificio, pero no se les permite salir. Nuestra principal preocupación es siempre la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes y personal.
Queremos asegurarle que actuamos con rapidez y en coordinación con las autoridades locales. Después de una evaluación exhaustiva, se determinó que los disparos que se escucharon eran de cazadores de patos en el río. ¡EL CIERRE! fue levantado después de sólo 17 minutos y las operaciones regulares se reanudaron una vez que el área se consideró segura.
Apreciamos la respuesta rápida y profesional de nuestro personal, así como la cooperación y asistencia de las autoridades locales. Sus rápidas acciones ayudaron a garantizar la seguridad de todos en nuestras instalaciones.
Si bien resultó ser una falsa alarma, incidentes como estos nos recuerdan la importancia de mantener un enfoque vigilante y receptivo hacia la seguridad. Estamos agradecidos por el apoyo y la comprensión de nuestra comunidad escolar.
