Familias de Nyssa High School, Estamos emocionados de poder ofrecer una graduación en-persona. Graduación será el domingo 30 de mayo a la una de la tarde en el estadio de fútbol americano de Nyssa. Habrá espacio para todos los parientes de los graduados. Hay un riesgo mayor debido al tamaño del evento. Si alguien tiene Covid, ha sido expuesto a covid, o tiene síntomas no deben asistir. Todos los participantes necesitan llevar mascarillas y mantener la distancia social con otras familias. Para que todos puedan disfrutar la celebración, por favor de no traer globos porque se impiden la vista para otros, y también no generadores de ruido. Nyssa High School Families, We are excited to be able to offer an in-person graduation ceremony this school year. Graduation will be held on Sunday May 30 at 1:00 at our Bulldog Football Stadium. There should be adequate room for all family members to attend. There is an increased risk of covid exposure at this event due to this being a large group setting. Anyone who has tested positive, has been exposed to covid, or has any symptoms, should not attend. All participants will be required to wear a mask and social distance between families. So that all may enjoy graduation, please do not bring balloons as they block the view, or noise makers, and please remain seated and wait to take pictures until after the ceremony.   Thank you, Mr. Jackman

Parents of NHS Seniors, Recently you were sent a copy of the fees acquired by your senior while attending Nyssa School District. We need your help with this. These fees must be paid by May 25 for seniors to participate in our graduation ceremony. Also, some of our seniors are deficient in their community service hours. This is a graduation requirement for the state of Oregon. Please encourage your student to complete these asap and no later than May 25. Call and ask for Sara if you have any questions. Los Padres de NHS graduados, Hace algunas semanas mandamos una copia de la cuota de sus graduados. Necesitamos su ayuda. Estos gastos necesitan ser pagados antes del 25 de mayo para que puedan participar en las actividades de graduación. May 6, 2021 Dear Parents and Students, Due to the COVID interruption to school this year, the state of Oregon has approved extra funds for all students in grades K-12 to attend summer school. Summer school will be FREE for all students who wish to attend. For now, this extra summer school is a one-time event. This extra summer school will be held in conjunction with our annual Migrant summer school. All students will attend and participate together. In order to attend summer school, you must commit to the following requirements: 1) Commit to attend school each day from June 3-30 (20 days), Monday-Friday each week. 2) Be on time! Schedule is 7:30 am – 3:00 pm each day. 3) Commit to work hard and play hard. Areas of focus: a. K-8 -- math, English, and science; hands-on learning, STEM, field trips, etc. b. 9-12 -- credit recovery. 4) Be willing to transport your child to school if we are unable to find enough bus drivers to fill the need. We have an urgent opportunity to fill slots at the COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine Clinic this Thursday, 5/6, from 2-6 p.m. at Ontario High School. This is the only vaccine available to ages 16-17 and the doses will be expiring soon and need to be used. Call Lisa at 541-889-5374 for an appointment. With cases increasing in youth and Pfizer being difficult to get, this is an great opportunity. Available to anyone 16+. See flyer below.

Football Passes/Senior Night Players will be given passes for their guests. EACH guest will need a pass. The stadium will not open until 6pm. You will need to sign in and answer the health screening questions. Masks are mandatory and please social distance to people not within your household. SENIORS Only your Parents/Guardians can meet you on the field. They will need passes. Please do not bring any gifts or items on the field to your athlete. Parents/Guardians that are meeting their athlete please be at the stadium at 6:15pm so we can start at 6:30.

Correction: Parents of NHS Seniors, Graduation is quickly approaching on SUNDAY, May 30, 2021. Please work with your senior to encourage a strong finish. We are planning a couple of different scenarios for our graduation ceremony based on county covid-19 levels. We are committed to having some type of in-person graduation that includes as many family members as possible. More information will be available soon. Thank you.
